About

Overview

Figma Dev Mode is a dedicated space inside Figma designed to bridge the gap between designers and developers. It provides developers with a code-focused view of the design, auto-generating CSS, Swift, or Compose code snippets, and highlighting exact measurements and assets.

Pricing & Free Tier

Free Tier: No. Dev Mode requires a paid Figma seat.
Dev Mode Seat: $25/editor/month (billed annually).
Organization/Enterprise: Included in the higher-tier full-seat plans.

How to Use

  1. Open a Figma design file and click the "< >" Dev Mode toggle in the top right.
  2. Click on any component (e.g., a button).
  3. Inspect the right-hand panel to view CSS properties, padding, and colors.
  4. Click "Copy Code" to grab the styles directly into your codebase.

Important Notes

  • Seat Costs: Figma's pricing model now differentiates between "Full Seats" (designers) and "Dev Seats" (developers). If you need both, it becomes expensive.
  • Clean Code: The auto-generated code is a starting point. It may not perfectly match your project's class naming conventions or architecture.
