Fly.io is a platform for deploying applications close to your users. It runs your code (Docker images) on lightweight micro-VMs in 30+ regions worldwide, reducing latency and ensuring high availability for global applications.

Pricing & Free Tier

Free Tier: No permanent free tier. They offer a trial credit for new users.
Pay-as-you-go: Billed by the second for CPU and RAM usage. A small app with 256MB RAM might cost around $2-$5/month.
Enterprise: Custom pricing for dedicated support.

How to Use

Install the Fly CLI: curl -L https://fly.io/install.sh | sh.
Log in using fly auth login.
Navigate to your app directory and run fly launch to generate a fly.toml config file.
Deploy with fly deploy.

Important Notes

Docker Required: Fly.io deploys Docker images. If your app isn't containerized, you'll need to write a Dockerfile.
Ephemeral Storage: Like most PaaS providers, the local file system is ephemeral. Use Fly Volumes or external object storage (like S3) for persistent data.
