About
Overview
Netlify is a web development platform that multiplies productivity by streamlining the deployment of modern web projects. It automates builds from Git, handles global CDN distribution, and provides serverless functions, making it a pioneer in the JAMstack movement.
Pricing & Free Tier
Free Tier: Yes. Includes 100GB bandwidth/month, 300 build minutes, and free SSL.
Pro: $19/user/month. Adds password protection, higher build limits, and background functions.
Business: $99/user/month for advanced identity and SSO.
How to Use
- Push your static site (Astro, Next.js, Hugo, etc.) to GitHub.
- Log in to Netlify and click "Add new site" -> "Import an existing project".
- Connect your GitHub repo.
- Netlify auto-detects the build command and deploys the site.
Important Notes
- Dynamic Content: Netlify is built for static sites and JAMstack. While it supports serverless functions, it is not a traditional PHP/Node.js hosting environment for monolithic apps.
- Bandwidth Overage: If you exceed the 100GB limit on the free tier, your site will be paused or you will be prompted to upgrade.
