About

Overview

Redash is an open-source business intelligence and data visualization tool. It allows you to connect to any data source (SQL, NoSQL, APIs), write queries, and easily build interactive dashboards to share insights with your team.

Pricing & Free Tier

Free Tier: Yes. The self-hosted version is 100% free and open-source.
Redash Cloud: Starts around $49/month depending on the number of users.

How to Use

  1. Self-host Redash via Docker or use their cloud version.
  2. Go to "Data Sources" and connect your database.
  3. Create a "Query" by selecting your data source and writing SQL.
  4. Click "Execute" to see results, then "Add Visualization" to pick a chart type.
  5. Add your visualizations to a Dashboard.

Important Notes

  • Acquired by Databricks: Databricks acquired Redash in 2020. Development on the open-source version has slowed down since then.
  • SQL Required: Unlike Metabase, Redash does not have a visual query builder. You must know SQL to use it.
