About
Overview
Stable Diffusion is an open-source text-to-image diffusion model. Unlike proprietary tools, it can be run locally on consumer GPUs, allowing for complete privacy, no usage limits, and extensive customization through fine-tuning and LoRA (Low-Rank Adaptation) models.
Pricing & Free Tier
Free Tier: Yes. The model is open-source and free to run locally. You only pay for your own hardware/electricity.
API/Cloud: Stability AI offers pay-as-you-go API credits if you do not want to run it locally.
How to Use
- Install a user-friendly GUI like Automatic1111 or ComfyUI (requires Python and Git).
- Download a base model checkpoint (e.g., SD 1.5 or SDXL) from Hugging Face or Civitai.
- Enter your prompt and negative prompt.
- Adjust CFG scale, steps, and sampler settings.
- Click "Generate".
Important Notes
- Hardware Requirements: Running locally requires a dedicated GPU with at least 4GB-8GB of VRAM. CPU generation is extremely slow.
- Learning Curve: Unlike Midjourney, you must manage models, VAEs, and LoRAs manually. It is highly technical.
