Pricing & Free Tier
Free Tier: Yes. It is completely free to start and publish, but Substack takes a 10% cut of all subscription revenue.
No upfront costs: You do not pay a monthly fee; you only pay when you make money.
How to Use
- Go to substack.com and click "Start writing".
- Set up your publication name and URL.
- Enable "Paid subscriptions" and set your monthly/yearly price.
- Publish your post; it will be emailed to your subscribers and hosted on your Substack page.
Important Notes
- Revenue Share: Substack takes 10% of your earnings (plus Stripe processing fees of roughly 2.9% + 30¢).
- Portability: You can export your email list as a CSV file at any time.
