About
Overview
IFTTT (If This Then That) is a consumer-focused web service that allows users to create simple conditional statements, called "Applets." These applets trigger automated actions across thousands of apps and smart devices (e.g., "If I post a photo on Instagram, save it to Dropbox").
Pricing & Free Tier
Free Tier: Yes. Allows you to create up to 2 Applets.
Pro Plan: $2.50/month (billed annually). Unlocks unlimited Applets, multi-action applets, and faster execution times.
Pro+: $5/month. Adds AI features and advanced filtering.
How to Use
- Sign up at ifttt.com.
- Click "Create" to build a new Applet.
- Choose the "If This" service (Trigger) - e.g., "Twitter" -> "New tweet from you".
- Choose the "Then That" service (Action) - e.g., "Google Sheets" -> "Add row to spreadsheet".
- Save and turn it on.
Important Notes
- Execution Speed: IFTTT checks for triggers periodically (usually every 15-60 minutes). It is not instant, making it unsuitable for real-time mission-critical tasks.
- Applet Limit: The 2-applet limit on the free tier is highly restrictive if you want to automate multiple workflows.
